Mary Marie [(Adams) (Rearick)] Mateer has fought a good fight, finished her course, run the race, and kept the faith; and on March 17, 2017, she received her reward passing into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior.  Mary was born March 10, 1930 on the family farm in Cherry Hill Township, Indiana County.

Over the course of her lifetime, Mary was employed at Musser’s Tree Nursery, King's Leather, Scenery Hills Manor Nursing Home, Indiana County Assistance Office and the Armstrong County Assistance Office, until her retirement.  Mary enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.  Often her apple pie would be requested.  Several of her friends particularly liked her mincemeat pie.  Over the years, Mary, sewed several outfits for her children and grandchildren as well as crocheting decorative dollies and sewing many quilts for family members.

Mary is survived by her children:  Marlin W. Rearick and wife Pamela, Big Run; Millie J. Pitzulo and husband Carmen, Struthers OH; Marcia J. Conner and husband Benjamin, Plumville; Marilyn J. Wells and husband Dusty, Home; Marie J. Shields and husband Gary, Marion Center; Michael E. Rearick and wife Marcy, Indiana.

Grandchildren: David M. Rearick and partner Dani Prugh; Mark Rearick and wife Lovell; Marcy Ann (Rearick) Hinton; Amanda Rearick and partner Jamie Mason; Vince Pitzulo and wife Holly, Michelle (Pitzulo) Murphy and husband Rob, Jomarie (Pitzulo) Gagne and husband Scott; Ashley (Conner) Jester and husband Daniel, Scott Conner; Jason Wells and wife Cathy, Chad Wells and wife Mandee, Lacie (Wells) Cook and husband Brandon; Tiffany (Shields) Reaugh and husband Matt, Nicole (Shields) Fregly and husband David, Curtis Shields; Pamela (Rearick) Morrison and husband Aaron, Matthew Rearick and wife Erin; 34 great grandchildren and one (1) great-great grandson. As well as the following siblings:   Margaret (Peggy) Benson and husband Ed, Struthers OH; Homer John (Jack) Adams, Blacklick and Avanell Adams, Blacklick, Norma Ketchum and husband Tom, South Carolina.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Marlin E. Adams and Violet P. (Waltemire) Adams, brothers Delmont (Bud) Adams and Melvin Charles (Chuck) Adams, sisters Bernice Donaldson and Jane Rankin, and an infant grandson, Stephen Conner; brothers-in-law; Norman Donaldson and Blair (Jiggs) Rankin; sisters-in-law Gwen (Bud) Adams, Joyce ( Chuck) Adams and Carol (Jack) Adams; and former daughter-in-law Dianne Rearick.

Visitation will be held at the John Lefdahl Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted 11 am Thursday, in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Micah McMillen and Rev. John Sykes officiating.  Interment will follow at the Crooked Creek Baptist Cemetery.
