William J. Thomas, Sr., 76, Creekside, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born April 30, 1941 in Dunlo, PA, he was the son of James and Mary (Nicosia) Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was employed as a coal miner and over the years had worked for William J. McIntire, Walter Houser, O’Donnell Mine, and R&P Coal Company.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. 

Surviving is his wife, June E. (Brady) Thomas; sons, William J. Thomas, Jr., Creekside, Steven K. Thomas, Homer City; daughter, Lorrie J. Hill, Rural Valley; grandchildren, Chloe, Mitchell and Nathan Hill, all of Shelocta; brother, James Thomas, Jr., Indiana; and sisters, Rosann Bruns, NC and Barbara Wise, Ford City.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

At Bill’s request there will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, July 21 at 6p.m. at the Community Bible Church, Sagamore.  A dinner will follow at the Plumville Fire Hall.
