Statistically speaking, the choice to cremate has risen to nearly thirty percent in Indiana County.
Cremation isn’t something that is new. It has been performed for centuries.
The Lefdahl Funeral Home offers three choices for cremation designed to be dignified and financially affordable.
Cremation Offering #1
This offering is the least expensive of our three and is called direct cremation. Direct cremation includes transporting your loved one to the funeral home, filing the proper paperwork which includes meeting with the survivors,
getting all the needed consents, permits, providing death certificates, veteran forms if needed, filing the necessary social security form, obituary if desired, notifying the cemetery and clergy as needed, transporting your family member to the crematory and if necessary removal of any pacemaker.
Cremation Offering #2
This offering is cremation with a memorial service. Everything above is included plus meeting with the family to arrange a memorial service which if you like can be performed in our chapel. With a memorial service, we will provide ideas to make the service personal and specific to each individual.
Cremation Offering #3
This selection includes having a public visitation followed by cremation. This selection is very popular and provides, in this Directors opinion, a better way to assist with the grief process.
All items in the first offering are included with this option having included a full day of visitation and next day or same day service. This option has the same process as a traditional funeral except at the end of the service instead of going to a cemetery; the services would end at the church or chapel. Burial, if selected, would take place at a later date. A casket is included for the service as well as register book and memorial folders.
A simple urn is provided which is suitable to use for burial, scattering, or to be placed in a niche. If you prefer a more personalized urn we have many in stock for your selection.
All options may be discussed in person or by phone if you would like further information.
