William “Bill” Leroy Smith, Jr., 65, Indiana passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at his residence.

The son of W. Leroy and Gladys (Harvey) Smith, Sr., he was born March 8, 1951 in Indiana, PA.

Mr. Smith graduated from Elderton High School in 1969.  He received a degree in Civil Engineering from WVU.  William had been employed as a surveyor for many years before becoming a courier at S&T Bank where he was employed for fifteen years.

In his younger years, William enjoyed hunting, fishing and annual family fishing trips to Combemere, Ontario, Canada.  Most recently, he enjoyed traveling with his wife to various places, but always loved their trips to Myrtle Beach, SC. 

William was a Mason and member of the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, Coudersport Consistory, and Acacia Lodge, Blairsville.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years Judith “Judy” (Struble) Smith, Indiana; sister, Judy (Frank) Shue, Centre Hall, PA; nephews, Franklin (Heather) Shue, St. Louis, MO, Eric Shue, Etters, PA, and Christopher (Frannie) Shue, Port Matilda, PA; four great nephews, Colin, Corey, Matthew, and Anthony Shue.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.  An additional hour of viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday morning at the Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana with funeral service to immediately follow with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. 

Interment in the Oakland Cemetery will be private.
