Kevin McClain Smith, 53, Duncansville (formerly of Creekside) passed away at his residence due to natural causes.

The son of the late Grover McClain and Mary Louise (Gibson) Smith, he was born November 4, 1963, in Indiana.

Kevin was employed as a fabricating welder working in New York and most recently in PA. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

Kevin loved the outdoors and was a Steeler fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving is his son, Zachary McClain Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Army; daughter, Shelby Barrett (Smith) Conway, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force; brothers, Jim (Doris) Smith, Marion Center, Greg (Debbie) Smith, Indiana; sister, Sherry (Richard) Pitrone, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Dean (Nancy) Miller, Altoona, and his dog, Sampson.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patty Chambers, and infant niece Tara Chambers.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday morning, 11 am in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hoch, officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Creekside United Methodist Church.
