Barbara Elizabeth Serbin, 69, Pittsburgh, passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 while a patient at McGee Hospital.

The daughter of Vert James and Estella Virginia (Sheeler) Shotts, she was born February 27, 1947 in Lutherville, MD.

Barbara had been previously employed by PNC Bank and Bank of New York. She enjoyed spending her spare time quilting. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving is her husband Frederick Serbin, Pittsburgh; a daughter Jennifer (Joseph) Hermann, Plum; two grandchildren, Joseph Frank Hermann IV, and Stella Elizabeth Hermann, Plum; two sisters, Penelope Siesko, Berwick, PA. and Joyce (Robert) Hendrix, York, PA.; two brothers, Vert James (Margaret) Shotts Jr., Indiana, and Donald Shotts, Creekside; seven step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother James Vert Shotts.

A Grave side memorial service will be conducted Saturday in the Oakland Cemetery at 11 am. The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
