Virginia Mary (Cornett) Suess, 88, went to Heaven on Sunday, July 17, 2016, with her daughters and dear friends at her bedside at Scenery Hill Manor in Indiana PA.

Born July 27, 1927 in Pittsburgh, one of eleven children of Francis and Estella Cornett. Virginia was a born care-giver, taking care of her Mother, Estella, until her passing, as well as many of her sisters and brothers. In spite of her own many health issues, she was always there when called upon by family and friends to help them when in need and care for them when sick. She was also a great organizer with many church, school and community activities.

She shared 60+ years of marriage with her one true love, Louis E Suess, before he went to Heaven in March, 2003. Virginia leaves her four children; Daniel Suess of Butler PA, Carol Morris of Indiana PA, Diane McKnight of Hurricain WV and Cassy Suess of Irwin PA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with her love and passion for life, love and laughter and a treasure trove of heartfelt memories. From Virginia and Louis they received a love for learning, imagination, adventure, music and song. Mom and Dad were our own “Fred and Ginger” and it was always wonderful to see them dancing together.

Virginia and Louis shared their love, wisdom and joy with their own children; as well as the many children they helped to look after in their later years, becoming “Grandparents” to them all.

Mom suffered great pain and numerous health difficulties for many years, but somehow through it all she always found a way to share her love and beautiful smile with everyone. Although illness may have affected her mind in these later years, it never affected her heart. We are very grateful to all the nurses, aides and staff members of Scenery Hill who helped us care for Mom these last two years. She made great friends not only with staff but the other residents and will be remembered warmly by all.

She will be most sincerely missed by her family and all whose lives she touched. But we know she is in Heaven now, free of all pain and suffering, and once again dancing in our Father’s arms. She remains always in our hearts and will be waiting with Dad to greet us when it is our time to come Home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23 2016, 11:00 AM at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home Chapel, 898 Old Route 119N, Indiana PA 15701. A gathering for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
