Lester Richard Bogdanski , 89, from Indiana, passed away at Indiana Regional Medical Center on Saturday April 15th.

Born in Blairsville Pennsylvania, he was the son of John and Anna Scolney Bogdanski also from Blairsville. He married the late Dorothy Irene McDonald on September 22, 1956 and they remained married 40 years until her passing in 1997. He was the loving father of Darlene Bogdanski, Diane Marcyjanik (Anthony), and Richard Bogdanski (Cheryl). He cherished his grandchildren Heather (Scott), Megan (Phillip), Brittany (John), Amanda and Ryan. He was also blessed with great grandchildren Alexandra, Emily, Alessandra and Mason. In his later years his special friend Mary Pease provided much joy and companionship.

Lester’s parents traveled several states in the early 1900s before finally settling in Blairsville in 1926. Lester was the 10th of 13 children born between 1908 and 1936. He was the brother of Albert, Evelyn, Donald and the deceased Mary, Paul, Julia, Ralph, William, Leo, Blanche, Frank, and Lawrence. He was also uncle to thirty-six nieces and nephews.

Lester was known for his wonderful personality, love for the great outdoors, devotion to his family and everlasting affection for his wife Dorothy. He was a very special friend to many.

He was an expert hunter and experienced farmer. Lester was employed at the Sears store in Indiana and retired after 35 years. Lester touched numerous lives during his lifetime adding strength to those who were the recipients of his love. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home on Thursday April 19th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday April 20 at 11 am followed immediately by Interment at Oakland Cemetary.
