Wilma J. (Toth) Omasta, 78, of Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 9, 1945 to Alex and Anna Marie (Kohut) Toth in Greensburg.
Wilma was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, and was affectionately known as “NaNa” by her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her sister Rosie. She also enjoyed bird-watching and cheering on the Steelers. She was an excellent cook and there was something special about her homemade mashed potatoes.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Daniel D. Omasta, Indiana; two sons and a daughter, Rick Piper (Vicky), Indiana, Sherry Sharpe (Troy), NC, Danny Piper, NC; two step-children, Vickie Balthaser (Dave), Mike Omasta, (Lisa) all of Indiana; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Ann (Toth) Smail (Art), Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Martha Thompson, Helen Dietrich, Mary Ann Sapovich; and a brother, Alex Toth.
A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held on Monday May 13th at the John A, Lefdahl Funeral from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
Wilma was a Fifteen-year breast cancer survivor, and the family has asked for donations to be made to www.komen.org.
