William Ottice Sears Jr

William Ottice Sears Jr., 73, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was the son of William and Georgia Sears who was born February 19, 1950 in Clay County West Virginia.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the two Silver Stars and the Purple Heart. After coming home he enjoyed hunting and especially fishing, hiking, exploring, metal detecting, and prospecting for gold and gems. Bill was a member of the Vintage Karting Association. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife, Florence; children, Kelley (Terry) Olenchick, James and Troy Sears, all of Indiana; grandchildren, Tressa (Aaron) Holzbach, Richmond, VA, and Avery Olenchick, Indiana; a half-brother, Rocky Cadle, Charleston, WV; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents; brothers, Garland and Arland; sisters, Hazel Bays and Loretta Price; and a half-brother, Ricky Cadle.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home. A graveside service in the Marchand Cemetery will follow.
