V. Jean Austin

V. Jean Austin, 90, Indiana, passed away Wednesday October the 11th 2023, while at St. Andrews Village.

The daughter of Ernest and Annie (Lambing) Woods, she was born June 20 1933 in Latrobe PA.

Jean had been employed by Head Start in Indiana for several years as a teacher’s aide and cook. Cooking was her passion as well as reading. Most importantly she enjoyed taking care of her entire family. Jean will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her children; Floyd Fleeger Jr., Indiana, Lori (Al) Fisher, Homer City, and Cheryl Flanders and her significant other William Allison, Shelocta; grandchildren, Al (Andrea) Fisher Jr., TX, Tonyalea Fisher and her significant other Nick Limas, Indiana, Zachary Fisher, Indiana, Mark Backus, Indiana, Charlene (Brent) Blose, CA, Elizabeth Flanders, Shelocta, Sheri Greenwald, Kittanning, Timothy and Rick Woods, Homer City, Mike Woods; 21 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Aileen Godfrey, AZ, Elaine Carrigan, Erie; sister-in-law, Esther (Harry) Dunmire, Shelocta.

Preceding Jean in death were her parents; husband, Robert; a son, Floyd Walter Woods; grandson, Anthony Woods; six brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Andrews Village for their support and kindness.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
