Tim Clair McGinnis, 74, of Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at his home with his family and friends by his side.
He was born July 15, 1951 to William and Barbara (Bence) McGinnis in Indiana.
Tim was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma fraternity and a member of numerous social and service organizations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Camp Arroyo, golfing, and walking the beach with his wife and best friend, Colleen. A lifelong acoustic guitarist and harmonica player, he loved playing music around the campfire. He was also an avid traveler, visiting numerous countries and 49 of the 50 United States. Those who knew him best will remember “Big Tim” as the life of the party, and he leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories along with a mantra to live every day to the fullest. He left everything on the table and he will be missed dearly.
He is survived by, his wife of 52 years, Colleen (McCarthy) McGinnis, Indiana, three children Timothy C. McGinnis, (Wanda Wellman), OH, Christopher L. McGinnis (Heather), Pittsburgh, Heather E. Empfield (Chad), Penn Run, four grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Hazel and Mabel, a brother, William McGinnis (Virginia), Indiana, and his care givers, Marie and Evan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
