Teresa Joy Martin

Teresa J. Martin, 57, Indiana, died Sunday, October 29 2023 at home, with her husband at her side. She died of ALS.

Born September 27, 1966 in St. Marys, PA., she was the daughter of Isaac and Carolyn Meckley.

Teresa was employed by Hutton-Blews Insurance for 38 plus years. She enjoyed working with customers and helping people with insurance needs and building many lasting relationships.

Teresa was a member at Calvary Baptist Church. When the doors were open she was there. She sang in the choir, special music, VBS. Maybe her most valued ministry at Calvary was Wednesday night Awana Cubbies program which taught young boys and girls about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John W. Martin whom she married October 3, 1987; her mother, Carolyn Meckley, a son, Caleb and his wife, Brianna; sisters, Britta (Bob) Colgan, Jackie Meckley, Candi (Marlon) Czar. brother; Scott (Faith) Meckley, and many nieces and nephews. Teresa is expecting her first grandchild this January.

Teresa loved being outside, gardening, canning, working with flowers, going for walks at the farm. She loved the fall with the beautiful colors of the leaves. Hosting was her special gift and she loved every opportunity to turn any minor holiday into a party.

Preceding Teresa in death was her father and a sister-in-law. She left this world early Sunday morning to hear the words of her Lord and Savior well done thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the kingdom of heaven.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4:30 to 8 pm at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home. An additional hour of viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 am with funeral service to immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Stephen Stockton, officiating.
