Susan Lynn Buffone,76 of Rural Valley, passed away peacefully Monday, June 1st surrounded by family after a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born December 12, 1949, to Henry and Helen (Gillis) Onni in Homer City.
Susan was graduate of Homer Center High School. She retired from the Purchasing Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Susan enjoyed cooking, fishing with her husband Jerry and spending time with her family.
Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years Gerald “Jerry Buffone, Rural Valley, son Shawn Johnson, wife Cathrine and their children Zachary, Taylor, Emma and Sophie, Maitland, Florida, a brother James Rocco, wife Shara Ann and daughters Francesca and Melissa, Nicholasville, Kentucky, sisters Linda Serianni and children Nathan and Nikki, Tampa Florida, and Henri Santoro, husband Michael and sons Jason and Phillip, daughters Stacy and Jennifer, Sun City Center, Florida. Susan is also survived by brothers-in-law Eugene Buffone, wife Jane and son Stephan, Rural Valley, Donald Buffone, Rural Valley and Robert Buffone, wife Marlene and children Tim, Tony and Tammy McConagle, Rural Valley, a step-son Gerald Buffone, wife Sara and children Gerald III, Ethan and Olivia, Warner Robins, Georgia, Step-daughter, Tiffoni Marie Buffone, Indiana, a sister-in-law Theresa Brochetti, husband Robert and daughter Laurie, Cleveland, Ohio, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, Howard Johnson, Susan was also preceded in death by a daughter Missy Sue Johnson, and her in-laws, Nicholas & Paulene (Perry) Buffone, two brothers-in-law James Buffone and Nicholas Buffone, Jr.
A private Funeral Mass for family and invited guests will be celebrated at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Indiana followed by internment at St. Bernard Cemetery.
