Steve M. Marusa

Steve M. Marusa, 82, Marion Center, passed away peacefully July 2, 2026 at St. Andrews Village.  Born in Dixonville on September 17, 1943, he was the son of the late Pete Marusa and Katherine (Julock) Marusa.    Steve is a1961 graduate from Purchase Line High school and a 1966 graduate from IUP.  Steve started his career as an Air Force Civilian working with Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.  Steve later retired from Lockhead Martin as a Physicist in Valley Forge, PA on January 1, 1999.   Steve will be remembered by family and friends for his many reunions and picnics at his cabin, as well as, his passion for photography and detailed woodworking projects.   Steve is survived by sisters Elizabeth “Betty” Hogan, Plumville; Judith “Judy” Cramer & husband Donald, Penn Run; Teresa “Terri” Schar, Harmony, and sister-in-law, Helen Marusa Kost, St. Benedict.   Steve is also survived by 9 nephews and nieces and several great nephews and nieces.  In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by brother, William Marusa, brother-in-law, Joseph Hogan, and brother-in-law, Jay Schar.  

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2pm-4pm at John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana, PA.  At the request of Steve, there will be no services.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Rd, Indiana, PA 15701.
