Stanford Webb II Obituary

Stanford A. Webb II, 86, of Indiana, PA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Latrobe, PA.

The son of Stanford S. and Ruby Catherine (O’Neil) Webb, he was born September 30, 1939, in Indiana, PA. Stanford, known to many as ‘Stan’, was a lifelong resident of Indiana and a true pillar of the community. Admired for his kindness and tireless work ethic, he devoted over 40 years of service to his community as a technician for Sears. Blessed with a vast technical skillset and knowledge, Stanford took great pride in fixing what was broken and extending help wherever it was needed – a selflessness that shaped both his professional life and his ministry.

Elder Webb was a committed and steadfast servant of God. The son of a pastor, he was raised in the church and experienced salvation at an early age, accepting Christ as his personal savior in 1950. Following the death of his father in 1991, Elder Webb was called to serve as pastor of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Indiana, where he remained a devoted leader until his passing. Soft-spoken, yet firm in conviction, Elder Webb was an anointed vessel used to deliver the Word of God, and he touched countless lives with his wisdom and loving encouragement. Beyond the pulpit, he faithfully ministered in many areas of the church, including as a talented bass player, uplifting the music ministry to the glory of God.

In his free time, Stanford enjoyed cutting grass, working in his garage, watching westerns, and spending quality time with his family.

To rejoice in his memory, he leaves behind his four children: Stanford (Cheisa) Webb III of Indiana; Judith Webb of Greensburg, PA; Lynda (David) Wilson of Indiana; and Joseph (Yulanda) Webb of Indiana. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a special son-in-law, Robert Erdely, a special friend, Tressa Pangonis, and numerous nieces and nephews who affectionally called him ‘Uncle Bud’.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary Frances Webb, his parents, an infant brother, Donald, sisters Beverly Butts and Deborah Webb, and brother Rodney Webb.

Elder Webb was a consecrated man of God who labored fervently and wholeheartedly in service to God and His people. He will leave a lasting legacy in the lives of all who were blessed to know him – a legacy of quiet wisdom, humility, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. Elder Webb lived his ‘dash’ well, perfectly embodying his favorite scripture, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation” (Psalm 91:16).

Friends will be received on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday May 5, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Deacon Shawn Jones officiating, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 625 Knox St., Indiana, PA 15701.
