Shirley Jean Wells

Shirley Jean Wells, 88, of Indiana passed away on Friday January 16, 2026 at the home of her daughter with her family by her side.

She was born August 26, 1937 to Harold and Clara (Kuchenbrod) Bowers in Blacklick.

Jean was a graduate of Blairsville High School. She was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana. She worked as an administrative assistant for Westinghouse. Jean then took a few years off to raise her family. After raising her family, she went to work for the Indiana Area School district as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement. Jean was an avid reader, and loved sewing and quilting, feeding the birds and watching them at her feeder. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank the Concordia VNA Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Jean.

She is survived by a daughter Michelle M. Hill and husband David, Indiana, four grandchildren David H. Hill III and wife Alli, Baltimore, Ashley N. Weyant and husband Caleb, Natrona Heights, Dylan W. Wells, Ft. Polk, LA, Sydney R. Wilson and husband Joe, Fulton, NY, four great grandchildren, Madelyn and Maeley Hill, Keith Wells and Theo Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth W. Wells, and son Kevin W. Wells.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-7 PM and also on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701 with Pastor Joe Stroup officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
