Shirley A. Hoover, 83, of Indiana, passed away on Sunday May 4, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born August 19, 1941 to John and Sophie (Sipos) Griffith in Indiana.
Shirley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana. She worked at Hills for 20 plus years. Shirley then went to work for Aramark at IUP for 20 plus years before her retirement in 2018. She was involved in women’s Bible study, Indiana Garden Club, and doll club. Shirely enjoyed gardening, decorating, her Bichons, having breakfast with her Hill’s co-workers, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Debbie Slater (Bert), Indiana, Robert Hoover (Cheri), Reading, Gerald Hoover, Indiana, six grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, a brother Bobby Griffith (Mary Jane), Homer City, a sister Anita Shaffer (Clair), Blairsville, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert N. Hoover in 2018, a daughter Barbara Jean Lynch, a great granddaughter Hailee Lynch, and a brother James E. Griffith.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701.
Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
