Scott Edward Bothel

Scott “Magpie” Edward Bothel, 56, Indiana, died Friday, January 25, 2019 while at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Scott was the son of Clair Eugene and Dorothy Irene (Carnahan) Bothel who was born June 22, 1962 in Indiana, PA.

Scott was a graduate of Marion Center Area High School, class of 1980. He was employed primarily as a plasterer during his lifetime. His interests included hunting, softball, baseball, bowling and golf. He loved being outdoors.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, a wonderful son, brother, and a friend to many.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Lucy Martha (Gulick) Bothel, whom he wed July 7, 1984; his mother, Dorothy Bothel, Creekside; sisters, Patti Gahagan, Indiana, Paula (John) Witherow, Clymer; a brother, Terry (Jo) Bothel New Jersey; eleven nephews; six nieces; eleven great nephews; eight great nieces; Brother-in-law, Richard (Joni) Gulick, Sebring, FL; sisters-in-law, Beatrice “Bea” Kotula, Indiana, Loretta Gulick, Phoneix, AZ, Elizabeth (Steve) Kendal, Harvard, MA, Edna (Ben) Blue, Easton, MD, and Bonnie (Hoss) North, Indiana; and his loyal pal, Bella.

Preceding Scott in death was his father, Clair; grandparents; great grandparents, Clair and Jesse Bothel, Paul and Helen Carnahan, Anna and Andrew Kulic, Michel and Bubba Gulick; in-laws, Mike and Martha Gulick, Robert Kotula; and special niece, Laura Blue.

 A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1654 Old Route 119 N, Indiana, PA 15701. 

The family would like to thank the many friends, family, and other organizations that assisted in Scotts’ care.
