It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Rory D. Gittings who was taken away from us way too soon on October 30, 2024, at 51 years old in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was a doting Father, loving Husband, and cherished Son. He was an unforgettable presence everywhere he went and lit up a room with his smile and electric personality. He could make a friend out of anyone. There are not enough words to describe the everlasting impact Rory had on everyone’s hearts, even if they only met him a few times. Rory loved to entertain and just be around people no matter who they were, what they did, or where they came from.
Rory was an avid motorcycle rider. He and his Wife, Jennifer, enjoyed many motorcycle trips together with family and friends. He passed away doing one of the things he enjoyed most.
Rory is survived by his wife, Jennifer Westrick Gittings; children, Harlie Gittings, Levi (Kamryn) Gittings, Caleb Gittings, Brionna Szalkowski, and Alex Szalkowski; mother, Carol (Kerry) Mears; siblings, Gerard (Alyse) Gittings, Aaron (Amanda) Gittings, Samantha (Brandon) Gittings; and his nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rory in death were his father, Roy Gittings, and his grandparents Carl and Jean Lantzy and Harry and Kathleen Gittings.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Robert Westrick, officiating.
