Michelle Emigh Obituary

Michelle Sara (Nibert) Emigh, 47, of Chantilly Virginia, died July 27, 2026, following a months-long battle with cancer.  Michelle is survived by her husband Alan J. Emigh, whom she married October 20, 2001, three daughters Isabella, Samantha, and Michaela of Chantilly VA, parents J. Michael and Sharon L. (Lutton) Nibert of Indiana PA, sister Melissa M. Nibert of Indiana PA, parents-in-law James P. and Mary Lou (Waltermire) Emigh of Indiana PA, and brother-in-law Jason A. Emigh, niece Hannah G. Emigh, and nephew Gabriel P. Emigh, of Johnstown PA.

Michelle was a 1997 graduate of Penns Manor High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2001.  She was hardworking, having just completed 25 years of federal public service as an auditor for the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Offices of Inspector General.

Michelle was a devoted wife and mother who coached several seasons of youth volleyball, co-led multiple Girl Scout troops, and often volunteered with cat rescue and adoption organizations.  She helped organize family reunions and researched genealogy and family history.  She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and decorating for Halloween. She loved cats, reading, holiday gatherings, Hallmark movies, and accumulated an impressive assortment of cow collectibles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Friends will be received on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Rt. 119 North, Indiana, PA 15701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held At St. Bernards Church Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation in her name to a cat rescue or cancer research organization of your choice. Entombment will follow at St Bernards Cemetery.
