Max Van Leer, 87, of Indiana, passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 11, 1936 to Valgene and Lillian (Houser) Van Leer in Marion Center.
Max was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer. He was a 1954 graduate of Indiana High School. Max was an avid dirt track race fan especially the Super Late Models. He enjoyed traveling near and far following the Satterlee racing family. When he wasn’t racing, you could find him supporting his grandchildren at their various activities. Max worked as a laborer for several area companies and retired from W.G. Satterlee and Sons, Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Josephine “Sally” (Leasure) Van Leer, Indiana, a daughter, Pamela K. Berezansky (Steve), two sons, Ronald M. Van Leer (Tammy) and Jeffrey A. Van Leer (Carlie), all of Indiana; grandchildren, Bradley Berezansky, Marie Clevenger (Tyler), Lola Van Leer, Fox Van Leer, Nathan Van Leer, and Liam Van Leer, three great grandchildren, Alexis Justice, Keira Berezansky, and Jase Clevenger; a great-great grandson Karter Justice; and a sister Elaine Balue (Denny), Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family will be received from 3-7 PM on Friday at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Hwy 119N., Indiana, PA 15701. Friends and Family will also be received on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home, with Richard Leasure officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 11394 Rt. 286 Hwy E., Clymer, PA 15728.
