Mary Elinor Fike

Mary Elinor Fike, 96, of Indiana, passed away on April 3, 2025 at Heritage Grove in Indiana.

She was born October 5, 1928, to Garrett and Sarah (Myers) Thorndell in Grindstone, Pennsylvania.

Mary married Robert A. Fike on November 18, 1950. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1996.

Mary was a member of Grove Chapel Lutheran Church.  She worked as head nurse for Clearfield Hospital in the OBGYN department for many years. Mary enjoyed her dog, Pippie, quilting, baking, painting, bird watching and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Tanzosh (Bryan White), Shawnee on Delaware, PA, Patricia Fallon (Michael), Irwin, PA,  Rebecca McCormick, Indiana, PA, five grandchildren, Alissa Settle, (James O’Hara), Braxton White, Ryan Crate (Kimberly), Lindsey Houser (Edward), Stephen Crate, Claire Fallon, and six great grandchildren, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jimmy, Bobby, Easton, and Elliot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Andrew Tanzosh, son in law, Alan McCormick, and three sisters, Harriet Hall, Jean Barron, and Jessie Johnston.

Services are private and are entrusted to the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana, PA.

Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
