Margaret Balogh

Margaret Balogh, 98, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 while at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Jacob and Mary (Manchack) Zappy, she was born September 5, 1921 in Starford, PA.

Margaret was a member of the St. Michaels Greek Orthodox Church.  She enjoyed reading and listening to Pirate baseball games and Sunday morning polka.  Margaret loved cooking for family and weddings. 

Surviving are her children, Margaret “Margie” (Gerald) Batulis, Dorothy Wissinger, Paul (Valerie) Balogh, and Dennis (Dawn) Balogh; daughter-in-law, Diana Balogh; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; husband, William Balogh; daughter, Mary Jane (Janie); three sons, William “Bill”, Michael “Mick”, and Steve; and a grandson, John William Balogh.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home where a Panachida service will be held at    7:30 p.m.  A funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Lefdahl Chapel with Father George Hnatko as celebrant. 

Interment will immediately follow in the St. Michael Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
