Loretta Jean Wood

Loretta Jean Wood, 77, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, while at Beacon Ridge Nursing Facility with family by her side.

The daughter of Gene and Nellie (Kessler) Hankinson, she was born September 2, 1946.

Loretta was a graduate of Marion Center High School. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and owned and operated Hankinson Greenhouses. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family who will remember her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her children, Kelly Wood, Indiana, Christen (Bradley) Butterworth, Indiana, and David Wood, Timonium, MD.; grandchildren, Collin (Jillian) Butterworth, Brooke and Samantha Butterworth, all of Indiana; great grandchild, Dallas Butterworth, Indiana; and a brother, Rodney (Sally) Hankinson, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Loretta in death were her parents and husband, Ray.

Friends will be received on Saturday, October 21 from 1 to 2 pm at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home. A Memorial service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with interment in the Greenwood Cemetery.
