Leona had a passion for family and friends, especially enjoyed playing all kinds of cards and board games. Her home was always filled with family and friends. This value was instilled in her children and all who knew her. Leona was dedicated to serving her faith and community. She volunteered for over 30 years for Meals on Wheels and for the MS Swimming Exercise program. As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Providence RI, she was a religious education teacher for Down Syndrome children, CYO Advisor, and assisted with many other parish activities. She was an avid bowler into her 80’s, league secretary as well as league president for many years. She will be always remembered for her laughter and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Leona is preceded in death by parents, Adelard St. Pierre and Adeline Poissant, her husband, Joseph E. Dandeneau, her daughter, Jeanne Willis, and her sisters, Rhea, Theresa and Bernadette.
