Kenneth Harold Shields

Kenneth H. Shields, 88, of Indiana passed on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Shadyside Hospital.

He was the son of the late Raymond and Hazel Shields.

Ken was born in Indiana County, PA on September 29, 1936. Ken graduated from Elders Ridge High School. After graduation he joined the Navy Seabees and worked in construction after being honorably discharged. Ken was in the Carpenter’s Union and retired from the Millwright Union in 1995. He was a member of the Mason’s Lodge #313, Jaffa Shrine, and the Keystone Sportsmen’s Club. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and the dogs in his life. He enjoyed being a “River rat” at the family camp and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

Ken is survived by his wife of 67 years, E. Jean (Sexton), Indiana; a daughter, Pamela Patty (Bruce); a grandson, Joshua A. Patty (Jessica); a granddaughter, Jenalee D. Kostella (Christopher); and two great-grandchildren, Tristan W. and Scarlet R. Patty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Robert and Richard Shields.

Family and friends will be welcome to attend the visitation at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N, Indiana, PA 15701 on Monday October 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM.
