Joseph M Burkett

Joseph M. Burkett, 79, died July 9th, 2026.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Joseph Burkett, Jr., Annabell Ruth (Costello) Burkett, his brother Howard E. (Gus) Burkett, and brother-in-law George Gibson..  Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy (Huff) Burkett, whom he married June 6, 1969, two sons- Brock Burkett and partner Anila, Brett Burkett and wife Shannon.  Other surviving relatives include: Chan Huff and Kelly Gibson.

Joe was a hard worker, devoting more than 60 years to Burkett's Nursery & Greenhouse. He was an excellent provider and devoted father who attended every sports event and school competition and ensured both his sons were routinely embarrassed by an after-school activity pick-up in his orange 1976 Ford truck.  He loved Elvis, Gunsmoke, and Wagon Train and was considered the family expert who could ALWAYS remember the names of movies, movie stars, singers, and baseball players.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are private and entrusted to the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home.
