John Carney Obituary

John William Carney, 82, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

The son of Merle and Odessa (Isenberg) Carney, he was born December 24, 1937, in White Township, Indiana County.

John was employed by Season All Industries for 10 years, Halliburton Industries, 28 years, and S & T Bank for approximately 5 years. John was a member of the Indiana Moose and attended the Grace United Methodist Church where he volunteered with many activities. He also volunteered as a Forest Fire Conservationist. In his free time, he enjoyed many activities such as bowling, golfing, hunting, camping, playing softball and watching westerns.  John also volunteered as a coach for YMCA t-ball in Indiana.

Surviving is his wife, Ruby J. (Sprankle) Carney; children, Debra L. (Allen) Ross, Spring Church, Terry L. (Richard) Werries, Cheswick, John W. (Heidi) Carney Jr., Indiana and Melinda S. “Suzi” Carney, Indiana; grandchildren, Jeremy Gett, Rural Valley, William (Karalina) Gett, Indiana, Brianna Werries, Springdale, Brendan Werries, Springdale, Lane Carney and Seth Carney both of Indiana; great grandchildren, Tyler Gett and his fiancée, Anna Hill, Apollo, Jenna (Garett) Hooks, Apollo, Jordan Gett, Rural Valley, Madison Gett, Rural Valley, Jaxon Blount, Indiana, and Tucker Gett, Indiana; great great grandchildren, Ava Hooks and Riley Hooks, both from Apollo; sisters Patricia (Kenneth) Lassick, Indiana, and Donna Isenberg, Ohio;  brother, Robert (Mary) Carney, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death were his parents; and sisters, Shirley Brilhart, Betty Mae Carney, Nancy Fennell and Peggy Stoker.

Funeral arrangements will be private and entrusted to the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
