Joanne Byers

Charlotte Joanne Byers, 88, of Brushvalley Township, Indiana County, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at her home. 

She was born July 28, 1936, in Brushvalley Township, to Sandy and Cora Mae (Snyder) Henry. 

She was formerly employed by Robertshaw Controls Co., Indiana, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Joanne was a member of the Luciusboro Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed attending church services, family memories, dining out with friends, her cherished neighbors, her home and pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Chester M. Dunford in 1983; and her second husband, Arthur B. Byers in 2020. 

She was also preceded in death by siblings: Virgil T. “Bud” Henry; Viola M. Minick; Sara E. Santus; Thornton D. “Tuck” Henry; and nephew James G. Santus.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Bryan S. (Isabel) Minick of Blairsville; Sharon L. Santus of Brush Valley; Richard B. Santus of Brush Valley; Jeffrey T. Minick of Allegheny County; Claudia A. Minick, formerly of Blairsville; Donna L.(Thaddeus) Clements of Indiana; Robert W. (Wendy) Henry of Brushvalley Township; grandnieces and nephews; and beloved puppy, Major.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 27th from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon with the Rev. Fish officiating, at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Hwy., 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701.
