Imogene Buterbaugh Busija Bencic, 89, Indiana, died Saturday, March 7, 2020, while at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA.
The daughter of Banks and Wilda (Mumau) Buterbaugh, she was born October 21, 1930 in Commodore, PA.
Imogene was a member of the Church of Christ. She had been employed by the Alta Vista Dairy and for numerous years by Season All Industries until her retirement.
Once retired, Imogene began quilting and made many beautiful quilts. Imogene was a member of the Plum Creek Country Stitchers, volunteered for the Pennsylvania Christian Camp as well as assisting with many fund raisers. Imogene was also Treasurer for the Fox and Coon Club. Her interests included cooking for her family as well as others and fishing with her second husband, Nick. She will be remembered as a generous woman who loved her family.
Surviving are her children, Regina (Gary) Minser, Marion Center, Bernard (Kathy) Busija, White Township, Joyce (Ronald) Jewart, Home; step children, Richard Bencic, MA, Diane (Bill) Jones, Indiana, Beverly Bencic, Indiana, Olga (Bill) Fowler-Clough, MA; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended step-family .
Preceding Imogene in death were her parents; first husband, Nick Busija; second husband, Nick Bencic; infant sister, Martha, and a second sister, Geraldine Miller-Baker; brothers, Norman Banks Buterbaugh and Carl Buterbaugh.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Bill Neese, officiating.
Interment in the East Mahoning Cemetery will be private.
