Harold Blaine Steele

Harold Blaine Steele, affectionately known as Harold, Blaine, or HB, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He was 93 years old.

Born on October 25, 1932, in Home, Pennsylvania, Harold was the son of the late Irene and Boyd Steele. He was the middle of eleven siblings, all of whom preceded him in death, including a sister who died in infancy. At age 18, Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Occupied Germany.

Harold retired in 1995 after a long and dedicated career with Verizon (formerly Bell Telephone). He began his career as a lineman in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and later continued as an office worker in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He was known for his love of antiquing, flea markets, collecting old records, traveling, and learning couples’ dancing. He built a home on Route 85 in Plumville, PA, which still stands today. He was an active member of the VFW and Family Campers and RVers (formerly NCHA), often volunteering in leadership roles.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bettyjean Lesnak Steele, whom he married on August 28, 1982; daughters Sandra Kuhta and Cynthia Steele; stepchildren Lori Lesnak (Sean Robins), Lawrence Lesnak (Lillian), and Lynette Lesnak-Walton (Laurence); grandchildren Ariana Lesnak Robins, Jesse Neese (Michael), and Jordan Walton; and great-grandchildren Colton Neese and Gabriella Neese.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel.
