Gary Wayne Ervin, 85, of Indiana, formerly of Culver City, CA, passed away peacefully with his wife Deborah, holding his hand at the Communities of Indian Haven on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Gary was born on April 8, 1940, to Orville and Avis Ervin in Auburn, CA. He worked as a Registered Nurse for many years while living in California. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War - serving in the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery and was a member of the Malibu Archery Club for many years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing the Bible with his Pastors. He also wrote many short stories and two medical textbooks for nurses that were published.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah (King) Ervin, 2 daughters, Pamela Marquez and Coleen Minnick of Ridgecrest, CA, and son John Ervin, Sherman Oaks, CA. He also has five granddaughters, Sara Jane, Jessica, Casey, Cassandra, Catrina, and five grandsons, Jacob, Christopher, J.T., Charles, and William.
The family wishes to give thanks to all who cared for Gary during his illness. Special thanks are extended to Pastor Bill, Pastor Kathy and Pastor Dawn.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
