Francis Albert “Nay” Gallo, 79, of Indiana, died Sept. 19, 2023, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 23, 1943, in Indiana and was a son of Frank W. and Beatrice J. (Litzinger) Gallo.
Nay attended St. Bernard’s School and graduated from Indiana High School with the Class of 1961. He was a 1967 alumnus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he belonged to Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
After a year of teaching at Marion Center High School, he became affiliated with Fisher Scientific as a sales representative in Michigan. It was there that he achieved one of the largest sales ever recorded in Fisher’s history.
In the 1970s, Nay returned to Indiana and a successful career in life insurance and financial planning. Later, he was also involved in oil and gas investments.
Many of Nay’s business clients became his close friends. They included sports figures Barry Bonds and John Cangelosi, among many others.
He is survived by a brother, James (Bonnie) Gallo, of Indiana; two nephews, Gabriel (Jamie) Glaze, of Georgia, and Vincent Merringer, of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Harry Glaze, of Georgia; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and John, and a sister, Mary Ann Glaze.
In accordance with Nay’s wishes, all services will be private.
As his friend John Cangelosi put it, “To say that Nay lived life to the fullest doesn’t even come close. If there’s something beyond ‘fullest,’ that’s how he lived.”
