Fiore Anthony Maniccia

Fiore Anthony Maniccia of Indiana, PA, son of the late Fiore M. and Mary Zoffuto Maniccia, died at the Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) hospital on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.  Mr. Maniccia was born on December 19, 1942, in Indiana, PA.  He married Dorothy Jean Dombeck at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church in Wampum, PA, on January 22, 1966.  He was a lifetime parishioner of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church in Indiana, PA.  He was known by others as Tony Maniccia.  Tony was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus council #1481 and served as the original chairman of the annual Knight of the Year Award committee.  As a Knight, Tony was also an ARC volunteer, CSA volunteer, and a United Way volunteer for many years.  He was also a life member of the Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 3931, where he served as past co-chairman of the Youth Committee.

Tony was a 1960 graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School and a 1966 graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.A. degree in Social Science.  He was a member of the Indiana Area Senior High School varsity baseball team during his 9th to 12th grade years.  He was employed 32 years with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry by serving as a Job Service Representative and was a member of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security until his retirement in 1999.  He enjoyed attending “oldies” concerts, such as The Beach Boys, with his wife Dorothy along with friends Bill and Linda Campbell.  He was quite a respectable bowler and always looked forward to participating weekly in the Knights of Columbus bowling league, the Elks Club Thursday Night bowling league, and playing cards with his high school buddies.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his children, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, especially while attending their school and sports events.

                 Surviving are his devoted wife of 59 years, Dorothy Jean Dombeck Maniccia of Indiana, PA; his older son Edward Michael Maniccia (Jessica) of Midlothian, VA; his daughter Stacey Lynn Maniccia (Vance) Byram of Indiana, PA; his brother Lawrence Maniccia (Donna) of Novi, Michigan; his sister Elenora Frayer of Indiana, PA; a brother-in-law J. Charles Dombeck (Grace) of Wampum, PA;  Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Peyton Dunsmore (Hadyn) Derr of Fort Benning, GA; Jenna Dunsmore and significant other Alex Stile of Homer City, PA; Dylan Strong of Indiana, PA; Stephen Maniccia and Alison Maniccia of Charleston, SC.  Also surviving are his two step-grandchildren Christian Jay Concepcion and Jasmin Marie Concepcion of Midlothian, VA.  Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Joseph Williams of Indiana, PA; Mary Lauren (Adam) Fetterman of Indiana, PA; Kristin Maniccia (Andy) McClure of Novi, Michigan; and from Lawrence County, PA: Jackie Dombeck McBride, Janet Dombeck (Mike) Novad, Johnny Dombeck (Billy Jo).  Also surviving are his beloved great-grandchildren: Miles Anson Derr; Estelle Vivienne Derr; and Abram Michael Derr of Fort Benning, GA; Weston James Stile; Macson Lee Stile; and Lainey Rae Stile of Homer City, PA.  Also surviving is his best friend of the past 40 years Bill Campbell (Linda) of Newry, PA. 

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father in-law Joseph and Elizabeth Dombeck; daughter Karen Christine Maniccia in 1968; and younger son Mark Anthony Maniccia in 2004.

                    Visitaiton for family and friends will be held at the John Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 North Old Route 119 Hwy, Indiana, PA, On Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.  The Rosary will be offered by the Knights of Columbus council members at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana, at 1:30 PM, on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 with interment to follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

                  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities of the Greensburg Diocese, Greensburg, PA.
