Elizabeth Joan Marshall

Elizabeth Joan Marshall, 87, of Marion Center, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1937 in Creekside, PA to Orville and Audrey Altman Watson.  

Joan was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church of Marion in Marion Center.  She was an Avon representative in the Tanoma area for many years.  She was also employed by Hills of Home Farm market for several years where she took pleasure in being able to keep in touch with all of her friends and neighbors.  

Joan enjoyed playing cards and square dancing with friends.  She also loved preparing delicious Sunday dinners for her family and was known by many for her decorated sugar cookies. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved attending all of their activities.  

Surviving are her two children Larry Williams, and Patricia Gatskie and husband, Robert; four grandchildren Kimberly Kanouff, Nathan (Tricia) Gatskie, Beth (Benjamin) Pyler, and Joelene (Tommy) Loughry; eight great-grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Kurtz, Mackenzie Kanouff, Audrey Plyler, Mikayla and Blake Gatskie, and Madelyn, Raegan, and Brett Loughry; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ellie and Porter Kurtz.  Joan is also survived by one sister, Karen Stewart of Indiana, PA.  

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Williams and her late husband Robert Marshall who she wed on March 19, 1960, and brothers Glen, Boyd, Donald, and Robert Watson. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home and Beacon Ridge for their loving care.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following.  Interment will be at the Smicksburg Cemetery.
