Dorothea Evelyn Ellefson, 102, Severn, MD, (formerly of Marion Center) passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at her residence.
The daughter of Charles “Charlie” Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Lucetta “LuLu” Kinter, she was born January 28, 1918 in Marion Center, PA.
Dorothea was employed as a registered nurse through most of her life and served in the Nurse Cadet Corp in WWII. She enjoyed entertaining and was always a gracious hostess. Dorothea was a fantastic cook, great listener, and a devoted Christian who taught her children about the love of God. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Dana and Kristi Ellefson; grandchildren, Lorne (Dionne) Ellefson and Brett (Courtney) Ellefson; great grandchildren, Christian and Alyssa Ellefson; and a sister, Isabel Kinter.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bennett Stanley Ellefson.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
Interment in the Oakland Cemetery will be private.
