Doris Rudd

Doris Daniels Rudd, 85, of Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 31, 2019. 

        She was born on March 18, 1934 in Erie, Pa to Mary and Sam Daniels.   Doris worked at Lord Manufacturing, Erie, PA, NUS in Gaithersburg, MD and at the Walmart and Giant Eagle, Indiana, PA.   

        “Baba’s” dedication and love of family was unquestionable.  Her influence on countless people’s lives will be felt forever.  Baba enjoyed spending time with family especially her three sons, seven grandsons and five great-grandchildren.   

She was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan and enjoyed watching and talking sports.  Her cookie and candy-making skills were legendary; baking hundreds of dozens of cookies for family and friends over her lifetime.  There never was an event where she didn’t bring or send some of her cookies.  

She was married to Jim Rudd for 57 years prior to his passing in March 2012.  Doris is survived by sons David and wife Lisa of Alexandria, VA; Jeff and wife Trisha of Marion Center, PA; and Gary of Indiana and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Lucernemines, PA; seven grandsons: Brian and wife Sarah of Warren, OH, Michael and wife Beth of Warren, OH, Matthew and Nicole of Denver, CO; Austin of Wesley, Florida, Collin and Ben of Indiana, PA, and Patrick of Lucernemines; six great-grandchildren, Emilee, Brian Jr. Hayden, Kailyn, Rylan and Delilah; sisters Rita, Jean and Marilyn and brother John; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. on Monday, November 4th at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 North, Indiana, PA.  Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5th at the funeral home where a celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m.  Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana County Visiting Nurses Association (VNA)/Hospice 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
