Charles “Chuck” Lamar Peterman, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 while at Frick Hospital.
The son of the late George F. Peterman and Bernice (Christian) Smith, he was born January 28, 1952 in Fort Bragg, NC.
Chuck was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He had been employed as a Registered Professional Geologist in the Environmental, Oil and Gas Industries.
Chuck was a member of the Keystone Elk Country Alliance, All Seasons Trap and Skeet Club, Penfield Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Riders Black Horse Chapter 141, and the American Legion. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are his mother, Bernice Smith; wife, Louise (Brown) Peterman whom he wed December 28, 1973; daughters, Laura Miller and her husband, Heath and Dana Allen and her husband, Christian, all of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Christian and Elle Miller, both of Wilmington, NC; siblings, Michael D. Peterman and wife, Patricia, Eva Sue McDonald and husband, Michael, Georgia Viers and husband, Paul, Luanne McGee, Carl Travis and wife, Nancy, Peggy Adkins, Everett Travis and wife, Lynn, Susan Craven and husband, Chuck, and Tim Travis and wife, Niccie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father George F. Peterman and siblings, George L. Peterman and Donna Spillane.
A private Memorial Service will be held at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
