Carl H. Hauck, 88, Marion Center, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
The son of the late Paul J. and Edith (Dinger) Hauck, he was born April 18, 1930 in Dora, PA.
Carl was a 1948 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and was a Specialist 2nd Class in the United States Army. Not only did Carl work on his family farm, but he was also employed by B&O Railroad in 1957 as a telegrapher and T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Company as a roustabout for 35 years. Carl took pride in his gardens and enjoyed working, playing BINGO, word search puzzles, hunting, fishing, antiquing, and he especially enjoyed spending time with and attending events and activities of his grandsons.
Surviving is his wife whom he wed on September 14, 1957, Patricia Baun; son, Doug (Paula) Hauck, Walton, KY; daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Schultz, Indiana; three grandsons, Austin J. Schultz and his companion, Brittany Evans, Zachary C. Schultz and his companion, Margaux Marcus, and Tyler C. Hauck; brother, Ralph S. (Nancy) Hauck, Punxsutawney; brother-in-law, Donald D. Smith, Punxsutawney; nieces, Kim Leasure, Kellie (Dirk) Neal, Kathy Ryen, Debbie (Norman) Swiger, Linda Taylor; and nephews, Loren (Toni) Hauck, Jamie (Karen) Ryen, Terry (Stephanie) Smith, Steve (Erica) Smith.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Edna (White) Baun; two brothers, Darl B. Hauck (twin) and Robert F. Hauck; two sisters, Barbara A. Smith and an infant sister, Nancy Hauck.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Bruce Shannon, officiating.
Interment in the Marion Center Cemetery will be private.
