Bonnie Sheesley Obituary

Bonnie Lee Sheesley, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to her eternal home with her Savior on May 17, 2024 at the age of 75. She was surrounded by her family in her final moments here on Earth. Born on September 25th, 1948 in Spangler, Pennsylvania to Keith and Leona (Belella) Miller, she was the oldest born of her and her sisters, Janet and Karen. She was the love of his life and cherished wife of Gregory Sheesley, with whom she shared 56 years of love and partnership. Once Greg was handed the reigns in the family business, Sheesley Electric, Bonnie was a steadfast support in the office, managing secretarial duties for over 40 years. Bonnie was a devoted mother to her daughter, Lisa Bush (Doug) and son, Shawn Sheesley (Jennifer). Her family was the center of her world. She took pride in nothing more than her 7 grandchildren, Kacey Frank (Brian) of Monroeville, PA; Hayley Valentin (Jordan) of Pittsburgh, PA; Tanner Bush, Braedon Sheesley (Ally), Alley Bush, Taylor Sheesley, and Evan Sheesley, all of Indiana, PA.

She was filled with immense joy watching them grow, and succeed in each of their own life journeys. Bonnie was also blessed to become a great-grandmother to Lukas (2021) and Layla Frank (2023). Being able to meet her great grandchildren brought her so much fulfillment and joy in her recent years. Bonnie not only had a heart for her family but for creativity. An avid crafter, Bonnie poured her heart into every project, whether it was designing and sewing together blankets and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, knitting cozy afghans for her great-grandchildren or crafting countless around-the-house decorations. She always had a room full of sewing, knitting and craft supplies ready to go for where ever her mind took her. Even then, her talents extended beyond her home. For several years, she carved time out of her Saturday mornings to design and arrange the altar flowers for Sunday service at Grace United Methodist Church, the church she called home.

When Bonnie wasn't home in Indiana, Pennsylvania, she was at her home in Florida. Since 2008, Bonnie and Greg spent 6 months of the year being a part of the Windward Knoll community where she forged deep friendships and reveled in the camaraderie of karaoke nights, filling the room with laughter and song Bonnie spoke highly of her friends at Windward Knoll, she always had a smile on her face when reliving memories of Florida nights. Bonnie's faith in God shone throughout her life in many ways. From Sunday mornings at church, teaching and reading Bible stories to her grandchildren, to listening to worship and steadfast in prayer for her loved ones. Even through challenging times in her life her faith in God never wavered. Her Faith in God and devotion throughout her life planted seeds of faith in her children and grandchildren, raising and supporting them to explore and grow their own faith and relationship with God.

Bonnie's life will be celebrated and remembered by many who knew and loved her by the memories of her held close to their hearts. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home from 1pm until 4 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Bill Blair, officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Footed Friends, Beck Rd Indiana PA 15701.
