Bernard “Bernie” McCreary, 89, of Indiana, passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born September 11, 1935, to Samuel and Jessie (Dunn) McCreary in Brewton, Alabama.
Bernard, Deacon of Beulah Baptist Church, Indiana, PA. was a long-time member and faithful servant. His departure leaves a big void in the Church and in the hearts of the congregation and the community. Bernie loved antiques and was proud of his coin collection. His grandchildren were very special to him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Connie (Chisolm) McCreary, Indiana, four children, Bernadette Kim-Andrews (Ronald), Pittsburgh, Carmen Smith, Pittsburgh, Karen McCreary, Pittsburgh, Bernard S. McCreary, Indiana, 11 grandchildren, Ronnie, Anthony, Ryan, Janae, Sydney, Jourden (Tyler), Michaela (Chan), Quinn, Chante, Isaiah, Bryant, seven great grandchildren, a brother Jay McCreary and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Tiffany Angel Andrews, three brothers, Charles, Walter, Oree McCreary, and a sister Mary McCreary.
Friends will be received on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Rte. 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701, with Rev. David Hanson officiating.
Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
