Arturo Montoya, Sr., 94, Indiana, formerly of El Paso, TX, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 while at his home.
The son of Guadalupe and Teodosa (Guerra) Montoya, he was born February 5, 1927 in El Paso, TX.
Arturo was a proud WWII Veteran of the United States Army. During his enlistment he also served as a member of the Army boxing team. He enjoyed gardening, lawn care, tinkering, and watching football especially the Dallas Cowboys. Arturo loved spending time with his family especially his great-grandsons who were the light of his life.
Surviving is his son, Arturo (Karen) Montoya, Jr.; granddaughters, Debra Geisel, Susanne (Hobert) Montoya-Henry, Elisabeth (Kevin) Andrews, and Zaliyah Covey; and great-grandsons, Zachary and True Geisel and Gabino Walker.
Arturo was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eustolia.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
Interment in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, Tx will be private.
