Anne Elaine Chester

Anne Elaine (Cornman) Chester, 83, Home, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, entering into her eternal home in Heaven.

Born September 24, 1942 in Lewisville, PA, she was the daughter of David Charles Cornman and Eleanor Ruth (McGinley) Cornman.

Anne was a 1960 graduate of Marion Center High School.  She has worked various jobs including school bus driver, Walmart clerk, retiring from St. Andrews housekeeping in 2006 and Accessibilities taking care of her daughter for many years. 

While visiting the Meadows in Washington, PA she met Jerry Chester, whom she wed September 16, 1988.  They shared a love of horse harness racing, racing at various fairs and remained avid fans attending races.

She was a member of the Dayton Global Methodist Church.  Attending their women’s bible study.  Anne belonged to the Plumville Lions Club.  She cherished spending time with family and friends, yard selling with her sister, meeting friends for breakfast and having lunch with church friends after Sunday Service.

Surviving are her daughters, Annetta (Bill) Denning, Marion Center, and Regina (Tom) Himes, Slate Lick; grandchildren, Bill (Olivia) Denning, Marion Center, and Breanne (Matt) Lockhart, Smicksburg; great grandchildren Liam and Nora Denning and Hannah and Eli Lockhart; brothers, William (Maureen) Cornman, Charles (Connie) Cornman and Gary Cornman; sisters, Ruth Frick, Esther Beers and Bell O’Neil and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Anne in death were her parents; husband, Jerry Chester; daughter, Ellie Pearce; brother-in-laws Bob Frick and Tom O’Neil.

While she will be deeply missed by those who loved her, Anne’s family finds peace knowing she is happy and whole, reunited with loved ones and resting forever in God’s promise of eternal life in Heaven.

Friends will gather on Wednesday, January 28 from 3 to 6 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.  A funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Barry Ritenour officiating.
