Robert Alan Drawl

Robert Alan Drawl, 70, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his residence.

The son of Michael “Bing” and Josephine “Dolly” (Prato), he was born on February 14, 1948 in Homer City, PA.

Bob was a graduate of Laurel Lamar High School.  He was a combat Veteran having served in the Vietnam War in the infantry for 13 months.  Mr. Drawl had been employed 17 years by the Indiana County Workshop.  Later in life, he and his wife owned Drawl’s Strings and Things.  During his younger years, Bob had formed a band called The Cobras where he was the rhythm guitarist and also performed vocals.  In his later years, he began a second band called Band Looking Back.  Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman as a member of the Stone Creek Hunting and Fishing Club for 45 years and a life member of the NRA and VFW. 

Surviving is his daughter, Kristin Morrison and grandchild, Kylee Morrison both of Allison Park; brothers, Richard (Faye) Drawl, State College and Michael Drawl, Graceton; nephew, Richard Drawl, Jr.; niece, Nicole Zaucha; and a brother-in-law, Carl “Kip” (Linda) Steel, II.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents; his wife, Karen whom he wed December 23, 1968; infant brother; and a nephew, Michael F. Drawl.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home with additional viewing on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m, and Monday morning from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral service will then immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery with military rites provided by VFW Post 1989.
