Ralph Bernard Stadtmiller, 91, Home, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The son of Bernard Ralph and Mabel (Fitzhonts) Stadtmiller, he was born July 28, 1927 in Brush Valley, PA.
Mr. Stadtmiller was retired from McCreary Tire and Rubber Company after 37 years of service.
He served in the military during World War II, having enlisted in the Army.
Ralph was quite interested in draft horses and was president of the Keystone Horse Pullers Association. In his youth, he played and managed local baseball for four decades. He was eventually inducted into Indiana County Baseball Hall of Fame and Indiana County All Sports Hall of Fame. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his granddaughters.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Betty Marie (Isenberg) Stadtmiller; sons, Bernard (Pamela) Stadtmiller, and Timothy (Jessie) Stadtmiller, both of Home; grandchildren, Amanda Stadtmiller, Creekside, Eva Davenport, Home and Ray Voelkel, Covode; greatgrandchildren, Michael Sandy, Creekside and Quinton Voelkel, Covode; brothers, Richard (Francesca) Stadtmiller, Marion Center, Robert (Doris) Stadtmiller, Home; sisters, Ruth McGinnis, Aurora, NY, Anna (Robert) Robertson, Blairsville, and Shelly (Mark) Anderson, Home; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. Stadtmiller in death were his parents; an infant son; granddaughter, Ashley Stadtmiller; brother, Jimmy; sisters, Janet Lewis, Jean Jewart, and Idella Altemus.
Funeral arrangements will be private and under the direction of the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana.
