Philip Edward Crook Sr., 72, Creekside, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his residence.
The son of Walter H. and Thelma G. (Pope) Crook, he was born May 10, 1946 in Mahaffey, PA.
Phil enjoyed watching wrestling and football, hunting, fishing, working in his garden, telling jokes, helping people and he loved coon hunting, even when it got to the point where he had to sit in the truck and just listen. He loved listening to the sound of the hounds fill the woods. Any time he got to spend with his family and his dogs was when he was the happiest. His sense of humor made every moment fun for everyone, he loved to laugh about everything and always wanted to be happy.
Phil was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Everyone who knew him called him “pap”. Phil was a great man in everyone’s life.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Sandra Lee (Peace) Crook; along with their children, Vickie Lee Crook, Philip Edward (Stacy) Crook, Jr., Laverna Jean Crook, Pamela Sue (Nathan) Shoemaker, and Terri Lynn Crook and her fiancee, Cainan Gromley; grandchildren, Philip Michael Crook and his fiancée, Katie Fairman, Anna Marie Shoemaker and her fiancée, Travis Dixon, Philip Edward Crook, III and his fiancée, Lareina Bouch, Jake Steven Crook, Shelbie Lynn Childs, Damien James Crook, Samuel Philip Gromley, and Dean Walter Gromley; brothers, Dayton C. (Mary) Crook and Walter (Dale) Crook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. and Thelma G. (Pope) Crook; son, Walter Glenn Crook; brother, Bernard B. Crook; and sister, Arebah Pearl Sullinger.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 Sunday with the funeral service to immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel. Pastor Ken Branan will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sample Run Cemetery.
