Minnie Agnes Ferringer, 88, Home, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Denny and Daisy May (Shawley) Claycomb, she was born March 14, 1929 in Derry, PA.
Minnie was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had home cooked meals for the family and plenty of food for guests. She could also be heard saying “ It doesn’t matter how old your kids get you always worry about them and when they have kids you always worry about them too”.
In her younger years, Minnie enjoyed roller skating, going to horse pulls and watching the boys compete in high school wrestling. She also liked to attend the Cherry Springs Woodsmen Carnival.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Paul) Wells, Home, Gay (Samuel) McDonald, Home, Mary Ann (Charles) Shoup, North Huntington , Robert J. (Sandy) Ferringer, Midland, PA, Joyce (Donald) Shoup, Blairsville, Louise (Dwight) Irwin, Home, Russell (Debra) Ferringer, Indiana; William (Paula) Ferringer Home, Daniel Ferringer and his partner Laura Frampton, Home, Fred Ferringer and partner Cindy Kunkle, Indiana, Dale (Pam) Ferringer, Marion Center 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Crawford, Boliver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell J. Ferringer; twin daughters, Alice Marie and Agnes May; grandchildren, Andrew Gerald Ferringer, Wayne Leroy McDonald; and a great granddaughter, Maria Kathryn Irwin; brothers, Harry, Jonas, Johnny, and William; and a sister, Alice Cairns.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday morning, 11 am in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Branan and Rev. Raymond Mialki, co-officiating.
Interment in the Smicksburg Cemetery will follow.
