Mary Jane Gromley, 70, died peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017, while at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

The daughter of William and Margaret (Zappy) Balogh, she was born November 23, 1947 in Indiana, PA.

Janie had various interests which included painting, religious studies, and following and debating politics. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving is her mother, Margaret Balogh, Indiana ; children, Michael Gromley, Hanover, PA, Denise Gromley, Clymer, and Susan (Robert) Scott, Brush Valley; grandchildren, Haley Mumau, Clymer, Greg Mumau, Brush Valley, and Sara Gromley, Clymer; siblings, Margaret (Jerry) Batulis, Indiana, Dorothy Wissinger, Indiana, Paul (Valerie) Balogh, Indiana, Dennis (Dawn) Balogh, Indiana; sister-in-law Diana Balogh, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Janie in death was her father, William Balogh; brothers, William, Michael “Mick”, and Stephen.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral service will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday morning in the Lefdahl Chapel with Father George Hnatko as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Sample Run Cemetery.
