Linda LaVan, 63, of Marion Center, died Monday, December 23, 2019, at her home.
The daughter of Larry and Margaret (Johnston) Shields, she was born August 7, 1956 in Indiana, Pa.
Linda was a foster mother to many children. She also had many interests which included, horseback riding, reading, cooking, crafts, country music, collecting cookie jars, hunting, four wheeling and Sunday dinners with her family.
Surviving is her mother, Margaret Shields, Marion Center, children, David (Sara) LaVan, Home, Nate, Billy, Darnell, and Casey LaVan, all of Marion Center, Johnny LaVan, Indiana, Jordan (Lauren) LaVan, Kittanning, Liam and Bobby LaVan, Marion Center; grandchildren, Danielle LaVan, Home, Isaiah LaVan, Creekside, and Karson LaVan, Home.; brothers, Gary (Marie) Shields, Marion Center and Dennis (Grace) Shields, Mayport; and sister-in-law, Darlene Shields, Creekside
Preceding Linda in death were her father, Larry Shields, husband, Charles LaVan, a brother, Ron Shields, and uncle, Don Johnston
Friends will be received on Saturday from 12 to 3 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 6 to 7 pm at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church, Smicksburg. Funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Micah McMillen, officiating.
